The Heart Behind the Work — Brad Adams

Brad Adams grew up on a family farm in Brant County, Ontario — a place where responsibility, hard work, and community shaped everyday life. As a young man, he imagined a future rooted in agriculture. Farming wasn’t just an interest; it was an identity, a lifestyle he admired and wanted to carry forward. Agriculture shaped his discipline, his understanding of people, and his appreciation for honest, practical leadership.

A Life Built on Service

From the beginning, Brad found meaning in helping others. His years in 4-H sparked a lifelong commitment to mentorship, leadership, and volunteerism. That foundation expanded as he became involved with the Paris Agricultural Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the OAC Alumni Association, and various community initiatives. Volunteering was never something Brad “fit in” — it was something he chose, consistently, because making a difference mattered to him.

Discovering Faith Later in Life

Brad became a Christian in his 30s — a decision that deeply impacted his perspective and purpose. Rather than being something he grew up with, his faith arrived through reflection, lived experience, and an honest search for meaning. Because of this, Brad’s faith is thoughtful, personal, and grounded in humility.

It didn’t erase anything from his past; it added depth to it. His commitment to kindness, integrity, and service found new anchoring points. His faith influences how he approaches people, how he listens, and how he supports teams and leaders. While he doesn’t lead with it in a loud or public way, those who work with Brad often notice something steady — a sense of calm, compassion, and presence that flows naturally from the values he now lives out.

Finding His Calling in People

Although he never lost his passion for agriculture, Brad discovered another calling as he grew older: people. Leadership development, human behaviour, and team dynamics intrigued him. He was drawn to the challenges organizations face and the role that clarity, communication, and trust play in their success.

Technology captured his curiosity as well — especially its ability to make learning more accessible and engaging. Brad found himself building a career that brought together his love of people, his fascination with learning, and the rich life experience he carried with him.

Through Breathe Training & Development, Brad has created a space where he can do what he does best: encourage people, guide leaders, and help organizations thrive.

A Life Rooted in Family and Home

Brad’s personal life is as grounded as his professional one. He and his wife, Heather, have been married for almost 30 years — a partnership shaped by mutual respect, shared values, and deep commitment. Together, they raised four daughters, all now grown, each carrying forward their own strengths, passions, and independent paths.

Brad and Heather still live on the very farm where Brad grew up. The property isn’t just a place; it’s a thread connecting past and present — the landscape that shaped Brad’s childhood is now the backdrop to family gatherings, quiet evenings, and the steady rhythms of rural life. Living there keeps Brad rooted in where he came from, even as his work takes him into boardrooms and communities across the province.

Faith as a Guiding Influence

Because Brad came to faith as an adult, his Christian beliefs influence him in a way that is steady but never forceful. He approaches every engagement — whether a boardroom discussion, a coaching session, or a challenging team conversation — with a sense of respect for people and a belief in their inherent value.

His faith shapes:

  • How he treats people: with patience, empathy, and dignity

  • How he leads: prioritizing trust, restoration, and understanding

  • How he listens: with curiosity and without judgment

  • How he serves: putting others’ success at the centre

Many of the themes central to Brad’s work — building trust, restoring relationships, strengthening communication — align with the deeper convictions that guide his life.

Moving Forward with Purpose

Today, Brad continues to weave together the many strands of his story: agriculture, technology, leadership, volunteerism, faith, and family. He remains connected to the 4-H community and the agricultural world that shaped him. He continues to volunteer because service is part of who he is. And through Breathe Training & Development, he spends his days doing the work he feels designed to do: helping people grow, connect, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Brad Adams is many things — facilitator, leader, mentor, lifelong volunteer, lover of agriculture — but at the centre is a man whose life was reshaped by faith, grounded in service, devoted to family, and driven by a genuine desire to help people become the best version of themselves.
